zkSync Airdrop Guide: Basic Overview

The zkSync airdrop is approaching fast. Airdrops are one of the quickest and easiest ways to make money in crypto – just look at ARB, OP, or UNI. An Airdrop is when a new protocol rewards early users with tokens related to the protocol. Just by interacting with the protocol (which generates fees for the protocol), you’ll become eligible for the airdrop. When the token launches, early users will be among the first to be able to sell on the open market.

The zkSync airdrop is a rumoured upcoming airdrop that will reward users for interacting with the zkSync ecosystem. ZKSync uses Zero-Knowledge Proofs to scale transactions and deliver affordable fees to users. Zero Knowledge Proofs allow parties to exchange data without revealing the content of the data, ensuring privacy. zkSync is aiming to offer quick, private, affordable transactions – what’s not to like?

In this article, we’ll look at how to connect to the zkSync Mainnet, and we’ll look at a few protocols that will increase your eligibility for the airdrop.

Step 1: Connect your wallet to the zkSync Mainnet

Since zkSync is a new layer 2 solution, you’ll need to use MetaMask and connect your wallet to a new network. You can add zkSync using the same methods you would to add any other network like Arbitrum.

Open MetaMask, click the Network drop-down menu, then click Add Network. Once you’re on the Add Network page, click “Add a network manually” at the bottom of the page.

Now you can enter the information below and click save once you’re done:

Network Name: zkSync Era Mainnet

New RPC URL: https://mainnet.era.zksync.io

Chain ID: 324

Currency Symbol: ETH

Block Explorer URL: https://explorer.zksync.io/

Use As Many zkSync dApps As Possible

Now that you have your wallet connected, it’s time to increase your activity and volume transacted on the zkSync chain.

The best way to increase activity and volume is to try new dApps. Remember to research and verify that contracts are safe before connecting your wallet.

1. Oribter Finance

Normally, going from a chain like BNB smart chain to Arbitrum or Ethereum is a pain and involves multiple steps. Or you have to use a service with expensive fees. With the Orbiter Finance Protocol, you can quickly transfer funds across chains within minutes. You can read more on how the protocol works here.

Using the Orbiter Finance protocols is one of the easiest ways to build volume. If you transfer funds from Arbitrum to BNB chain, then BNB Chain to Starknet, you just added 3 transactions to your cumulative airdrop total plus the total sum of the funds you transferred.

Going back and forth between 2 chains is easy, but it also appears obvious you’re trying to get an airdrop. The Orbiter Finance protocol makes it convenient to mix up the chains you use while building up transactions and volume for the airdrop. Swapping between multiple chains will help you build a natural profile for the zkSync Airdrop.

2. Sync Swap

Sync Swap is a decentralized exchange that uses zero-knowledge technology to provide affordable fees. On Sync Swap, you can farm rewards from their liquidity pools or use the swap function to trade tokens.

Connect your wallet to Sync Swap and start making transactions. This is an easy way to build up volume for the zkSync airdrop.

3. SpaceFi

SpaceFi is a DeFi hub that offers access to a decentralized exchange, NFTs, launchpads, and more.

You can interact with the different services within the hub to build up your zkSync volume. SpaceFi offers single-sided staking for the SPACE token, multiple liquidity pools, and pools where you can use NFTs as liquidity.

You can also stake the STAR token to become eligible for a separate airdrop provided by SpaceFi. You can burn STAR tokens to get an exclusive NFT, which will get you a Common Planet NFT that earns rewards.

Interacting with the Discord community will help you find more Layer2 projects you can use to build volume.

4. Mute

Mute is a decentralized exchange that uses an Automated Market Maker to execute trades.

Mute also offers Bond pools, which help users contribute to the amount of liquidity the protocol owns. https://wiki.mute.io/mute/mute-switch/bonds

Mute also offers regular liquidity pools. Interacting with all these products is a simple way to increase your zkSync airdrop volume and transactions.

ZkSync Airdrop Tips:

  • Aim for 10k total volume
  • Double and triple-check the safety of new protocols before connecting your wallet
  • Use a secondary wallet that doesn’t have all your funds to interact with new protocols
  • Using as many new blockchains as possible
  • Don’t forget about paying gas fees on each transaction & new blockchain
  • Keep your wallet activity consistent
  • Naturally try new protocols – this gives a human appearance to your wallet activity
